Q & A Why are Determinism and Freewill Not Compatible?

There has been a lot of misunderstanding on this beaten-to-still-living topic.

Determinism refers to an aspect of the PHYSICAL WORLD of atoms and molecules, tools and tops, planets and particles, suns and stars: in so far as their evolution is governed by linear differential equations.

Freewill refers to an aspect of (HUMAN) THOUGHTS AND MINDS, involving choices and expectations, decisions and planning. Their emergence and evolution  are not governed by linear or any other sort of equations.

The two have nothing to do with each other any more than the colors in a painting have to do with the melody of a song.
